FIGHT FOR MEDIA FREEDOM
Propaganda Dept. Intervenes to Defend Media Freedom in Slovenia
In Slovenia, media freedoms face increasing challenges as government interference and political pressures undermine journalistic independence. The landscape is marred by attempts to control public discourse, with state-funded media outlets being leveraged to propagate biased narratives while critical voices are sidelined or censored. Financial pressures on independent media, coupled with strategic lawsuits against journalists (SLAPPs), create an environment where self-censorship flourishes. This erosion of media freedom not only stifles dissent but also threatens the democratic fabric of Slovenia, prompting Propaganda Dept. to intervene with powerful street art dedicated to highlighting and combating this growing problem.
Break The Muzzle
The "Break the Muzzle" t-shirt, inspired by Propaganda Dept.'s Ljubljana installment, stands against media censorship.
